La República

From 2011 to 2018, I served as Photo Editor for one of Costa Rica’s longest-standing newspapers, where my responsibilities extended far beyond technical image editing. The role required a strong commitment to journalistic integrity, visual storytelling, and the publication’s editorial standards. Over time, I developed a distinctive approach that balanced aesthetics with journalism, carefully selecting and curating photographs that not only captured attention but also strengthened the narrative of each story. With often a single image representing an entire article, every choice demanded thoughtful consideration, editorial judgment, and a deep understanding of both visual communication and the news itself.
